Mary D. Davis, 94, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on June 24, 1920, to Ross H. Darby and Edna G. Darby in Lyons, Michigan. In 1934, the family moved to Saranac, Michigan, where Mary graduated from Saranac High School in 1938. Following high school, she enrolled in the Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated three years later as a Registered Nurse.

She worked as an industrial nurse at the K-25 plant of the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (1946-1956) and at the Western Electric plant in Indianapolis (1956-1958). She served as an organist and pianist in Michigan and from 1969-1979 she was the organist at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

Mary was a member of the Lawrence Chapter #384 of the Order of Eastern Star, Kappa Kappa Kappa philanthropic sorority, the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle, and Faith Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis.

She is survived by her son, Alan D. Davis, Indianapolis, IN, and nieces: M. Diane Westphall, Renee A. Westphall, and Janet W. (Ben) Peterson, all of Watertown, WI. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews: Sarah (Maynard) Carl, Andy (Laura) Peterson, Holly (Pete) Thompson and Katie Peterson; great great nieces and nephews: Raymond Carl, Elizabeth Carl, Rachael Carl, Hannah Carl, Grace Carl, William Carl, Hope Peterson, Natalie Peterson, and Benjamin Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Davis; sister, Audrey I. Westphall; brother-in-law, Raymond Westphall; mother, Edna G. Darby; and father, Ross H. Darby.

Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015, 9:00-11:00 am at Leppert Mortuary in Nora. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, IN.
